Data Product Owner
About the role
We are looking for a Data Product Owner with experience in building data products from the ground up. This role will be accountable for how data products are developed and delivered, primarily related to the Game (Football and Player Health and Safety). Responsibilities include ensuring that the end-to-end data pipelines supporting the Game are developed in a scalable, repeatable, and well-governed way.
Initially, the role will focus on collaborating with cross-functional data professionals within Football and Player Health and Safety domains to migrate data from legacy environments into our central data platform called Gridiron. Due to specialization in legacy-to-Gridiron migration, there may be other high-priority data domains within this scope.
This leader will partner and collaborate with stakeholders across Data and Analytics, the League, and possibly Clubs. The successful candidate will demonstrate an established background in data, strong technical depth, excellent product and project management skills, superb communication and stakeholder management abilities, and the motivation to achieve tangible results in a dynamic environment.
The Data Product Owner will connect strategic priorities and requirements from business and senior Data and Analytics stakeholders and work with an interdisciplinary team of data specialists (data engineers, architects, and analysts) to prioritize and execute deliverables.

- Ensure end-to-end data pipelines are built in a scalable, repeatable, and well-governed manner.
- Lead the migration of data from legacy environments to the central Gridiron data platform.

- Prioritize and execute data product initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Product Owner or similar role, with a focus on building data products from the ground up.
- Strong technical background in data, including familiarity with data pipelines, governance, and migration projects.
- Excellent product and project management skills, with a track record of delivering results.
- Superb communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., data engineers, architects, analysts).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
