About the role

The Data Platform Engineer will join MPR’s engineering team to build robust data processing applications and analytics solutions. The position focuses on creating scalable systems that transform raw data into actionable insights, leveraging modern cloud platforms and visualization tools to support engineering design, analysis, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑performance data applications using C++, C#, Java, or equivalent languages.
• Create and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines that efficiently process large volumes of data.
• Build and deploy data solutions on AWS, utilizing services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, and related analytics tools.
• Implement visualization and reporting solutions to make complex data accessible to stakeholders.
• Optimize applications for high‑throughput data processing and overall performance.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to deliver solutions that meet client needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Two or more years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C# and Python.
• Understanding of database systems and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with both structured and unstructured data.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for performance and scalability challenges.
• Preferred: experience building data processing pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Preferred: hands‑on experience with AWS data services and cloud architecture.
• Preferred: familiarity with data visualization platforms and reporting systems.
• Preferred: experience building production applications that process significant volumes.
• Preferred: experience building user‑facing applications with data back‑ends.
• Preferred: proficiency in C++.
