About the role

State Street Global Delivery Data Operations team is seeking a versatile individual in an Assistant Vice President role with strong data and business analysis skills to lead the support of services and offerings across Global Delivery. This candidate will provide data and business solutions, collaborate with technology and product partners, and build relationships with business stakeholders to contribute to the timely execution of long-term strategic plans for building sophisticated data solutions.

State Street Data Operations brings together data capabilities across the investment lifecycle to help clients make better decisions, grow at scale, and deliver returns. The successful candidate must be skilled in analyzing complex business service flows across front, middle, and back office operating models, with a focus on data management. They will drive strategic solution design, business architecture, and business solutions while managing program/project execution and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Product, and E2E architecture teams to influence and coordinate cross-functional business data solutions and products in support of client and business goals.
  • Create and manage several project plans and provide program management of a suite of projects.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to support product demand opportunities as part of data strategy.
  • Possess strong knowledge of front-to-back investment management/investment services with a focus on user data requirements.
  • Work with business and technology partners to establish clear connections between business goals, strategies, and the data and technology investments required to achieve them.
  • Communicate recommendations to management and senior business leaders through effective written and oral communication.
  • Manage timelines for key milestones, proactively identify roadblocks to mitigate risk, and ensure strategic alignment across SSCD pillars within the team.

Requirements

  • Strategic thinker with strong business analysis and planning skills; capable of identifying and interpreting wider-ranging issues with a "big picture" understanding.
  • Creation of data and business process flows and defining business problems, solutions, and designs using various tools.
  • Proven experience with business requirements analysis to meet critical business needs; ability to drive tasks through to completion.
  • Experience with design and optimization of user experience across different interfaces to maximize engagement and adoption.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a focus on achieving outcomes.
  • Experience with writing features/requirements.
  • Deep understanding of data strategy including data lineage, quality, governance, and analysis.
  • Product Owner role experience using Agile Methodologies.
  • Proven related financial services experience and a good understanding of State Street businesses.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Operations processes and procedures with an ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Project Management software and MS Office Products (MS Access, Visio, Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated excellence in business writing, development of business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes, and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  • Data Analysis technical skills including SQL, Data Visualization tools, Power BI, etc.
  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, Operations, or Product management.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $80,000 - $140,000 Annual. The range applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate works outside the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
