Data Manager, After-School Programming

About the role

Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ), a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York, seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Data Manager to support its K-12 After-School Programs. The role requires a passion for HCZ’s mission of breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty through comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that creates opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life. The Data Manager will ensure that all program data is clean, organized, accurate, and compliant with HCZ, Promise Academy, and program guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure program data is accurate, complete, organized, and compliant with HCZ, Promise Academy, funder, and program requirements
• Manage and maintain data systems, processes, and reporting tools that support effective program operations and decision-making
• Monitor attendance, participation, enrollment, and performance metrics, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and reporting
• Generate, analyze, and present data reports to identify trends, measure program outcomes, and support continuous improvement efforts
• Partner with Directors, Assistant Directors, and program staff to translate data into actionable insights that improve participant experiences and program effectiveness
• Supervise, coach, and support Data Aides to ensure high-quality work, professional growth, and adherence to established data standards
• Conduct routine data audits and implement strategies to maintain data integrity and improve reporting accuracy
• Train and support staff on data collection procedures, reporting requirements, and best practices for data management
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system utilization, and enhance operational efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned
