About the role

The team develops and launches new data products derived from State Street and third-party data to create value for both the company and its customers. This includes conducting research, generating ideas for new products, defining requirements and roadmaps, collaborating with internal teams to bring products to market, tracking performance against KPIs, and iterating on solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, client needs, and opportunities for new data products.
  • Aid in developing product requirements, user stories, and specifications for new data products.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and technology teams to design, prototype, and build data products and analytics tools, working with users to gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
  • Integrate and manage market and vendor data, ensuring data quality and reliability.
  • Implement research data products, such as investor behavior and risk indicators, in partnership with the Global Markets Research team.
  • Maintain existing data products and support client deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation of product features, data models, and user guidelines.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies related to data intelligence.

Requirements

Technical Proficiency: Strong computer programming skills, preferably with experience in Python and PL/SQL.
Data Handling & Analytics: Hands-on experience in processing, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets for quantitative research, product development, or client services.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Project Management & Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and collaborate across teams, including data engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders.
Innovation and Initiative: Self-motivated, fast learner who is proactive in identifying opportunities and driving solutions forward.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, data science, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quantitative research, product development, data analytics, or investment-related roles.
  • Experience working with financial market data, including public and private market datasets.
