Atlantic Group is hiring a Data Governance & Compliance Counsel in Stamford, CT for a global investment management organization. This role will provide legal guidance on regulatory matters, corporate policies, data governance, and emerging business initiatives while partnering closely with compliance, technology, operations, and business teams to strengthen governance and risk management processes.
Responsibilities
- Legal & Compliance Advisory: Provide legal guidance on regulatory, compliance, data governance, and business matters while supporting risk management initiatives across the organization.
- Policy Development: Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impacts, and advise internal stakeholders on compliance requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, compliance, technology, operations, and business teams to support strategic initiatives and regulatory projects.
- Risk Management: Assist with compliance reviews, internal controls, and governance processes to support a strong control environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance compliance procedures, operational efficiency, and governance frameworks.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of legal or compliance experience within financial services is required. Prior law firm or regulatory experience is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with financial services regulation, compliance programs, governance, risk management, and data governance is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with legal research, compliance, or governance systems is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across business functions, and provide practical legal guidance are required.
