Data Governance Architect- Retail Background

About the role

The Data Governance Architect is responsible for defining and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks that ensure data is trusted, secure, compliant, and fit for business use. This role requires bridging business and technology by establishing data standards, policies, and architectural patterns; embedding governance into data platforms and delivery initiatives; and partnering with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to improve data quality, interoperability, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks ensuring data is trusted, secure, compliant, and fit for business use.
• Bridge business and technology by establishing data standards, policies, and architectural patterns.
• Embed governance into data platforms and delivery initiatives.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to improve data quality, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
• Translate business requirements into enforceable data standards and architectural patterns.
• Facilitate alignment of disparate groups of stakeholders towards a common framework by demonstrating value.
• Take vague or unclear expectations and turn them into concepts and requirements.
• Align disparate groups of stakeholders towards a common framework by demonstrating value.
• Strategically think and solve problems.
• Change Management experience is a big plus.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (10+ years) in the development and operationalization of data governance frameworks, operating models, and workflows.
• Minimum Degree: Bachelors of Arts or Science.
• Proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
• Nice to have knowledge: Atlan, Alation, Google Cloud, Data Modeling, Wireframing and workflow development.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $86,000 to $203,000. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
