This role combines data entry, clerical support, and in-person interaction across departments within a major hospital, offering opportunities for growth within the organization. Responsibilities Visit assigned hospital departments to collect lab boxes according to established schedules and procedures.Verify that each lab box is properly labeled and complete before transport.Accurately enter all required information from lab boxes into the hospital’s computer system in a timely manner.Use a handheld device to record, track, and update lab box information while moving between departments.Ensure lab boxes are safely transported and returned to the main hospital office without damage or loss.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to lab box collection and data entry activities.Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with hospital staff across departments.Follow all hospital policies and procedures related to confidentiality, safety, and handling of materials.Monitor workload and communicate any issues, delays, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment and devices are properly used and cared for. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED.Strong data entry skills with the ability to input information accurately and efficiently.Customer service skills to interact professionally with hospital staff.Clerical skills, including basic recordkeeping and documentation.High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and handling of lab boxes.Typing skills sufficient for consistent and accurate data input.Computer savvy with the ability to navigate and use computer systems effectively.Ability to utilize a handheld device for data collection and tracking.Capability to be on your feet for extended periods while moving between departments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in growing within a large hospital environment.Willingness to learn hospital systems, processes, and workflows.Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and occasional weekend work.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Work Environment This role is based in a major hospital within approximately a 45-minute area, offering opportunities for upward growth within the organization. The schedule includes Monday through Friday shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and candidates should feel comfortable working both shifts as needed. The position also requires working one Saturday and Sunday per month, with a typical weekday off (such as Tuesday or Wednesday), or the option to work additional hours for overtime. The work involves frequent walking and standing while visiting various hospital departments and handling lab boxes. Comfortable clothing and shoes are required due to the physical nature of the role, and clothing should be in good condition without rips or excessive wear. The environment is professional and fast-paced, with regular use of computer systems and handheld devices to support accurate data entry and tracking. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, NY. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
