Data Engineering (Python + SQL with ETL)

About the role

Good hands-on years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines using Python and SQL.
Expert in writing complex SQLs
Develop reusable scripts for data extraction from various structured and semi-structured file formats.
Write optimized and scalable queries to retrieve, clean, and transform data for analytics and reporting.
Integrate data from different sources, including APIs and multiple databases.
Work closely with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable datasets for analysis.
Document data workflows and ensure best practices in coding and version control.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Create reusable scripts for data integration from various file formats.
• Optimize and scale queries for efficient data retrieval and cleaning.
• Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs and databases.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver clean datasets.
• Document data workflows and maintain coding standards.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Python for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Hands-on experience with SQL and complex query writing.
• Experience connecting Python scripts with various relational databases.
• Extensive experience with diverse file-based data sources like CSV, JSON, and Excel.
• Exposure to consuming REST APIs for data ingestion.
• Integration experience with multiple database sources.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
• Basic shell scripting skills.
• Working knowledge of data validation and performance tuning.

• API & DB Connectivity: Exposure to consuming REST APIs and integrating multiple database sources.
• Power BI Skills: Desirable to have skills on Power BI Development, enhancement, and Migration.
