About the role

Data Engineers are needed to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a security clearance and experience with data engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation and cleansing techniques.
• Optimize data storage and processing strategies to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering projects.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and machine learning.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and database management systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Security clearance is required.
