Data Engineer - Remote
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering peers, business leadership, and partner teams to design, implement, and optimize data solutions that enhance the member experience and support product development. You will work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics partners to develop transformations for business-ready data, ensuring the integrity and usability of data assets across the organization. Your expertise will be vital in supporting data analysis efforts by providing contextual insights and developing a deep understanding of core datasets.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Analysis roles
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures in production environments
- Proven track record supporting BI initiatives and working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, consumable data
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data libraries used for profiling, transforming, and validating large datasets
- Knowledge of best practices for data flow patterns, including data ingestion, sharing, and delivery of data products
- Hands-on experience with cloud data services such as Azure Managed Databases, Azure Data Factory, AWS RDS, AWS Glue, and Data Bricks
- Exposure to emerging AI tools and developing solutions utilizing AI models and agents
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Responsibilities

- Partner with BI and analytics teams to create transformations that produce business-ready data
- Aid in data analysis by providing contextual insights and developing a thorough understanding of core datasets
- Design and implement flexible, scalable data ingestion pipelines, incorporating new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency
- Support data governance initiatives, including data cataloging, cleansing, security, and archiving
- Address complex data development challenges across on-premise and cloud environments
- Develop and implement quality strategies to ensure data platforms are accurate, resilient, scalable, and secure
- Share ownership of data pipelines with team members and contribute to building shared capabilities
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to promote team growth and best practices
