Data Engineer, NAST-CX Tech

About the role

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team is seeking a Data Engineer to contribute to the development of scalable solutions addressing operational complexities and innovation in areas like yard congestion, intermodal, and safety risk prediction.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize business requirements into data platform architecture for BI engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Interface with other technology/data engineering teams to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources using AWS data technologies.
• Explore and implement the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance existing data pipelines, establishing scalable, efficient, and automated processes for ingesting data.
• Work closely with business intelligence leaders, business owners, and developers to identify new data sources and deliver solutions for BI & analytics.
• Develop end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making datasets accessible to visualization tools, machine learning platforms, and reporting processes.
• Enhance processes to ensure data integrity, availability, and auditability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices
