About The Role The Data Engineer at Honda will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives across the enterprise. This position requires a highly skilled individual capable of developing robust data pipelines, optimizing data models, and ensuring data security and governance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, supply chain, manufacturing, and analytics, to deliver high-quality data solutions that enable strategic decision-making. The role involves working with cloud-based technologies, particularly AWS services, to create efficient, reliable, and compliant data architectures. The Data Engineer will also be responsible for monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing best practices for data management and security. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in data engineering or related roles within the industry.Proven expertise in designing and implementing data solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including orchestration and automation.Experience integrating data with ERP systems such as SAP and proprietary manufacturing or supply chain applications.Strong background in API-based data exchange for legacy and modern systems.Knowledge of metadata management, audit trails, and compliance reporting.Extensive experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), ETL process optimization, and query performance tuning.Proficiency in programming languages including Python, PySpark, and SQL.Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, EMR, EC2, Lambda, DMS, S3, Redshift, and RDS.Familiarity with data governance tools like Informatica CDGC/CDQ and DevOps tools such as Git and AWS CDK.Understanding of security protocols including IAM and encryption policies.Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to monitor and optimize system performance using CloudWatch, Glue Catalog, and Athena.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable ETL pipelines utilizing AWS services such as Glue, EMR, DMS, and S3, ensuring data integrity and performance.Orchestrate complex workflows using AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, and Lambda to automate data processes and workflows.Integrate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and AWS CDK to facilitate automated deployment and continuous integration.Create and maintain comprehensive data models—conceptual, logical, and physical—to support operational and analytical systems.Optimize database queries, normalize datasets, and apply performance tuning techniques to enhance system efficiency.Transform raw data into meaningful insights using Python, PySpark, and SQL, automating data workflows and processes.Implement data security measures, including IAM roles and encryption policies, to safeguard sensitive information.Ensure compliance with data governance standards by utilizing tools such as Informatica CDGC and CDQ, maintaining audit trails and reporting mechanisms.Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues proactively using CloudWatch and related tools.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions that meet business needs.Maintain documentation of data architecture, workflows, and security protocols to ensure transparency and compliance.
