Data Engineer, Devices Sales & Marketing

About the role

Build premium shopping experiences for millions of Amazon customers. Work on performance challenges to provide the best recommendations in less than 200 milliseconds, given millions of customers and products. Contribute to Machine Learning and data science initiatives to ensure every customer has a unique experience. As a Data Engineer, you will operate in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments, designing, creating, managing, and leveraging extremely large datasets to answer key business questions and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and manage data warehouse solutions using multiple technologies (RDBMS, Columnar, Cloud).
• Build and operate highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets.
• Develop data models, warehouses, and ETL pipelines.
• Collaborate with business owners to define key business questions and build datasets to answer them.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
• Work with batch and streaming data architectures (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Storm, Beam).

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and full software development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies (e.g., Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, IAM roles and permissions).
• Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (e.g., object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
• Experience working with Data & AI-related technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage.

Pay

Base salary range: $132,100.00 – $178,800.00 USD annually (Bellevue, WA). Final compensation includes sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
