Data Engineer

Applicants must currently be local to Indianapolis and able to interview in-person. Work location: downtown Indianapolis – hybrid work model (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).

Responsibilities

• Support data-related projects for the State of Indiana.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years total experience; new graduates with strong internship/co-op experience are acceptable.
• Experience with Python, SQL, ETL, and data cleansing.
• Python: data & analytics experience (transformations, dataframes, scripting).
• SQL: solid fundamentals.
• ETL experience (any ETL tool); enterprise ETL experience is a plus (WhereScape preferred).
• Familiarity with command line/Linux and version control (Git).
• Curious, thorough, and comfortable working with imperfect/dirty data.

Skills

• Experience with WhereScape or similar enterprise ETL tools (nice-to-have).
• Hands-on experience cleaning and transforming messy/real-world data sets (nice-to-have).
