Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support data solutions that provide timely and structured access to information
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, analyses, and recurring metrics for business stakeholders
• Develop and support data models, metadata structures, and analytic platforms using third-party and in-house tools
• Optimize SQL queries and application performance using profiling and tuning techniques
• Partner with business teams to understand reporting and analytical needs and turn requirements into solutions
• Work with large, complex datasets to identify patterns, surface trends, and support operational decisions
• Contribute to ETL pipelines and data warehousing processes in a complex environment

Skills

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with complex SQL
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipeline development
• Proficiency in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Node.js
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with large datasets
• Ability to collaborate directly with business partners and translate requirements into practical solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information technology, or a related field

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or Quicksuite
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM
• Experience working with non-relational data stores such as object storage, document databases, key-value stores, graph databases, or column-family databases
• Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control, testing, and deployment processes
• Background in business intelligence, software engineering, or data science with a focus on extracting value from data

Pay

The pay range for this role is $62 - $99 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
