Data Engineer

About the role

This is a 12+ month contract position for a Data Engineer, with a hybrid schedule of every other week onsite in Westlake, TX. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale data solutions to enable reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes for analytics and reporting.
• Develop and optimize SQL across large data volumes and multiple platforms.
• Leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3, and EMR to enable cloud data solutions and data lake patterns.
• Implement data modeling and warehousing solutions aligned to enterprise standards.
• Build data integration to and from Snowflake using Python and Snowflake SQL.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and follow coding best practices.
• Use DevOps and migration tools to promote code through environments.
• Engage stakeholders and communicate progress, risks, and solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering data solutions in a multi-developer Agile environment.
• Expert SQL with UNIX shell and Python scripting.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, EMR).
• Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Strong database and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience developing ELT/ETL pipelines, including Snowflake integrations.
• SQL performance optimization on large datasets.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with DevOps tools for code migrations and with JIRA and Agile practices.
• Control-M or similar scheduling tools experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $60.00 to $70.00.
