Data Engineer
About the role
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Data Engineer will build the foundation for scaling analytics across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Understand data needs of stakeholder teams and translate into technical requirements
- Define, build, and manage key data pipelines in dbt
- Establish high data integrity standards and SLAs
- Develop insightful and reliable dashboards
- Build foundational data products, dashboards, and tools
- Influence the future roadmap of Product and GTM teams
- Become an expert in data models and architecture
You might be a good fit if you have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar roles
- A passion for Anthropic’s mission
- Expertise in ETL jobs, dbt, Airflow, and GitHub
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience building data reporting and dashboards
- A bias for action and urgency
- A full-stack mindset
- Experience building an Analytics Data Engineering function
- A strong disposition to thrive in ambiguity
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
Annual Salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Required field of study: Relevant to the role
Minimum years of experience: Correlates with internal job level requirements
Location-based hybrid policy: Staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more time in offices.
