Data Engineer

About the role

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Data Engineer to develop and operate distributed parallel data processing pipelines. The role involves configuring data connections, parsing, normalization, mapping, modeling, enrichment, and integration with data analytics. The position supports the U.S. federal government’s mission across defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain data processing pipelines to meet platform availability requirements.
• Apply agile methodologies to the data‑engineering portion of the system development life cycle (SDLC).
• Update technical documentation, including system design documentation (SDD), standard operating procedures (SOPs), tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and training material.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a data engineer with a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, or 7 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• 5 years of experience with distributed parallel streaming and batch data processing pipelines.
• 5 years of experience with Python, Java, or other programming languages.
• 3 years applying agile methodologies to data‑engineering within an SDLC.
• 3 years developing, operating, and maintaining data processing pipelines in a classified environment.
• 3 years integrating with data SDKs/APIs and data analytics SDKs/APIs.
• 3 years of experience with data mapping, modeling, enrichment, and correlation of classified data.
• 3 years of experience identifying and deduplicating data sources and record types to meet military requirements.
• 3 years of experience with Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
• 1 year of experience with Python/PySpark.
• 1 year of experience with Java/Java interface to Spark.
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Pay

The base pay range for this position in the specified locations (California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, the District of Columbia, and Cleveland, OH) is $134,100 – $180,100 USD.
