About the role
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and databases to support the company’s analytics needs. This includes working with various data sources, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines using technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark, and AWS services.
- Maintain and optimize existing databases to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform regular data quality checks and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion and storage.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in big data technologies and incorporate them into the team’s practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar field.
- Experience with SQL, Python, and other scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing tools such as Redshift, Hive, and Presto.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms like AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
