Data Collection Specialist

Cognizant is a large IT Consulting Firm that leverages modern technologies to transform a variety of business operations. The AR Data Collections team supports user experience, engineering and software development teams to manage new products and programs. We are looking for a Data Collection Specialist to work with our team to facilitate various data collections projects, document known issues and gather feedback on client products. This team member will interact with internal and external study participants, gather and categorize data, document daily activities, and should have hardware integration experience (understand interactions between host computers and connected devices over wired/wireless technologies). Please note that this role is 100% onsite in Atlanta, GA. Only local candidates will be considered. Role Responsibilities Facilitating on-site and remote data collection studies Work with cross-functional teams to understand data collection requirements, troubleshooting Assist with device intake and shipment across locationsManaging device software by manually updating or validating software commands Gather user feedback, preferences & research data based on requirements from the client Scheduling, compiling results, documenting & troubleshooting technical issues Create process documentation, training materials, best practices and represent data with charts and graphs for easy consumption by client stakeholdersCollaborate with team members on data validation, deriving key insights, coordination & task prioritization, and communicate updates about fixes/edits to tools & programs used for collectionTriage operational issues & make recommendations for how to alter process based on observationsDocument and report on collection status, adhere to key timelines and milestones, identify data gaps, and serve as a conduit between operational and technical teamsUpdate information in internal planning tools and platforms as necessary, such as logging and tracking all activities and appointment minutesUtilize internal tools to engage with participants, track communications & deliver results Desired Skills & Experience At lease a High School diploma is required; A Bachelor's is preferred 1-3 years of experience in a similar roleCustomer relation management skills Ability to provide instructions, guide users and support them through remote troubleshooting clearly and effectivelyAbility to clearly and effectively identify issues and escalate them timely, based on instructions provided Ability to operate and proficiently use various hardware and devicesAbility to work in a fast paced and agile environment Able to follow guides that contains instructions on:Commands to run on physically connected devicesUsing the command line to move/copy files to connected devicesUsing shell scriptsBasic HW debug skills to validate and test the unitsAdvanced queries or data manipulation techniquesStrong attention to detail and accuracy Strong hands-on knowledge with Linux (comfortable in the terminal/console with SSH experience)Android DataBase programming language proficiencyAndroid DataSuite ProficiencyFlashstation experienceAble to use VSCode to remotely debug collection stationsAble to read/edit JSON files (if database needs editing)Able to quickly understand and get familiar with custom Hardware solutionsExcellent communication skills and ability to articulate issues with detailed reproduction steps to stakeholders with various degrees of technical knowledgeAble to provide feedback when new hardware doesn’t meet expectations (w.r.t., fit, hardware quality, comparing with previous iteration to determine differences)Attention to detail and thorough workstyleExperience working in digital/technology companies with tech productsAbility to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment with minimum supervision and a high degree of autonomyMust be a self starter, with willingness to embrace change, quickly learn new technologies, work closely as a member of cross functional teams, and be open to new ideas and processes Responsible for fulfillment/completion of deliverables within area of responsibility within set timelines Knowledge and interest in AR/VR Fluency in the English language.
