Data/Cloud Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions within a complex, enterprise scale environment.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Work with large datasets, performing data analysis and processing using Python or similar technologies.
- Support data engineering workflows, including ingestion, transformation, and quality validation.
- Develop cloud-aware applications and workflows using AWS services.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, environment strategy discussions, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Collaborate with business teams, product owners, and engineering peers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Maintain strong documentation, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Apply strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities in fast-paced environments with strong attention to detail.
- Leverage GenAI and Dev Assist tools to accelerate development, improve productivity, and enhance code quality.
- Contribute to projects involving sales or incentive compensation systems, if applicable.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience with Python for data analysis, processing, and automation.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud computing and cloud native development practices.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced environments.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
- Experience participating in code reviews, design reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services domain.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts or data engineering workflows.
- Exposure to microservices or distributed system design.
- Experience with GenAI, Dev Assist, or other AI-driven development tools.
- Knowledge of modern development frameworks or cloud native architectures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Pay
To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $56,700.00 - $121,100.00.
