Data Center Technician - Rapid Response Team 75% National Travel

About the role

NTT is assembling a Tiger team of L2 datacenter technicians to support Google’s Hi‑Fiber project, which replaces older coax cable with fiber. The team will be the first on‑site at new Google locations to establish processes and procedures for the initial 6‑8 weeks of each deployment, then move to the next location. During periods between projects they will work at the Google datacenter in their home market.

Responsibilities

• Set up and implement processes and procedures for Hi‑Fiber fiber‑optic deployments at new Google sites (first 6‑8 weeks).
• Travel to Google locations to launch projects and then transition to the next site.
• Perform datacenter tasks including rack and stack, hardware troubleshooting, cable replacement, and general troubleshooting.
• Support home‑market Google datacenter work during downtime between travel assignments.
• Prepare the way for later hiring of Level 1 cable pullers to complete long‑term project work.

Requirements

• Intermediate‑level experience as a datacenter technician.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by airplane or vehicle.
• No travel restrictions; flexible with travel schedule (typically up to 2 weeks on the road before returning home).
• Willingness to have out‑of‑pocket travel expenses reimbursed by NTT.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data center environments.
• Hands‑on experience with cable installation, troubleshooting, rack and stack, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cable replacement projects and related procedures.

Pay
