Data Center Technician Night Role

Responsibilities
Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services.
Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues.
Helping to interview, train and onboard new team members.
Requirements
Physical Requirements: Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each, working in cramped and/or elevated locations, bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation, working in an industrial environment, working shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).
Essential Requirements: Ability to travel to or commute to active data center sites as required by business needs, work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience, or experience related IT, 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking (including troubleshooting and repair) experience, work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays, Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT-related roles.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting, Knowledge of Linux/Unix Administration, Experience in a data center or other critical environment, Experience training and onboarding of new team members.
