Job Summary
Randstad is responsible for the day-to-day management of state-of-the-art data center operations across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for a global financial leader with exciting data center opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Shift - Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm
- Physical / hands-on worker
- Undergoing complex make-over opportunities for growth and advancement
- Basic Responsibilities Include:
- Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage, and enterprise servers)
- Running, tracing, dressing, and testing copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device
- Familiarity with patch panels
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware/connectivity
- Commission and decommission of hardware
- Must be able to perform component replacement (DIMMs, hard drives, power supplies)
- Adhere to Change Control Processes
- Hardware Deployment: Handling full rack and stack of servers and network infrastructure
- Cabling & Patching: Managing copper and fiber patching; regular troubleshooting of connectivity issues
- Hardware Maintenance: Replacing failed components including DIMMs, hard drives, and NICs
- Logistics & Inventory: Managing general shipping and receiving, unboxing equipment, moving heavy gear, and disposing of packaging/rubbish
Qualifications
- Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage, and enterprise servers)
- Running, tracing, dressing, and testing copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device
- Familiarity with patch panels
- Demonstrated experience in High-Availability Data Center
- Complete adherence to documented processes
