Data Center Technician

Job Summary

Randstad is responsible for the day-to-day management of state-of-the-art data center operations across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for a global financial leader with exciting data center opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Shift - Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm
• Physical / hands-on worker
• Undergoing complex make-over opportunities for growth and advancement
• Basic Responsibilities Include:
• Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage, and enterprise servers)
• Running, tracing, dressing, and testing copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device
• Familiarity with patch panels
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware/connectivity
• Commission and decommission of hardware
• Must be able to perform component replacement (DIMMs, hard drives, power supplies)
• Adhere to Change Control Processes
• Hardware Deployment: Handling full rack and stack of servers and network infrastructure
• Cabling & Patching: Managing copper and fiber patching; regular troubleshooting of connectivity issues
• Hardware Maintenance: Replacing failed components including DIMMs, hard drives, and NICs
• Logistics & Inventory: Managing general shipping and receiving, unboxing equipment, moving heavy gear, and disposing of packaging/rubbish

Qualifications

• Rack and stack enterprise class technology (network, storage, and enterprise servers)
• Running, tracing, dressing, and testing copper and fiber cables from patch panel to device
• Familiarity with patch panels
• Demonstrated experience in High-Availability Data Center
• Complete adherence to documented processes
