Detail-oriented Data Center Technician specializing in structured cabling, rack and stack, and physical layer infrastructure within enterprise and hyperscale environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling to support servers, network devices, and storage systems.
• Maintain organized cable management systems to ensure optimal airflow, performance, and scalability.
• Read network diagrams, follow industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI), and perform troubleshooting on physical connectivity issues.
• Work in fast-paced data center environments while adhering to strict safety, security, and change management protocols.
• Adept at configuring patch panels, performing cross-connects, tracing cables, and updating documentation within DCIM systems.
• Minimize downtime, support infrastructure deployments, and maintain high standards of quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience in structured cabling, rack and stack, and physical layer infrastructure.
• Proficiency in installing, routing, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI industry standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot physical connectivity issues using network diagrams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain cable management systems.
• Experience working in fast-paced data center environments.
• Adherence to safety, security, and change management protocols.
• Understanding of patch panel configuration, cross-connects, cable tracing, and documentation updates within DCIM systems.
