About the role
GE Vernova is in a rapid growth phase in the data center market. You will be a pivotal technical advocate for innovative power solutions uniquely from "generation to GPU," serving hyperscalers and colocation data centers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a “grid-to-GPU” power train technical architect for hyperscalers and colocation data centers.
- Knowledgeable about industry migration to 800V DC architectures.
- Primary customer-facing technical authority for all AI training campuses and hyperscale DC opportunities.
- Develop and own GEV "Campus Power Reference Architectures."
- Lead technical discovery sessions with hyperscaler DC engineering teams.
- Author technical proposals and power system studies (load flow, fault analysis, arc-flash).
- Collaborate with NPI/PM team to validate new product designs.
- Conduct internal technical training sessions.
- Represent and drive standards for GEV in relevant organizations.
- Build and maintain a library of GEV data center customer case studies and reference designs.
- Generate detailed competitive analysis.
- Guide roadmap, optimizations, TCO planning and analysis.
- Travel up to 30% of the time, particularly within North America and EU, plus other locations.
- Experience in infrastructure facility monitoring, telemetry, AI training and inference workload profiles.
- Experience with grid and islanded/microgrid architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Overall 10+ years of relevant data center power train architect experience at hyperscaler, colocation, or top-tier OEM supplier with extensive hyperscale experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time including local and international.
- Personal design, peer-review, and/or operation/maintenance of electrical systems for at least one hyperscale AI training campus.
- Experience with AC/DC (esp 800VDC) power train and distribution architecture, MV/LV switchgear and distribution architectures and equipment, MV/LV UPS, solid-state transformers, Battery Energy Storage Systems, source/load Power Quality issues and ways to resolve, System TCO / design tradeoffs, Open Compute Project, NVidia/AMD, IEEE, NEMA, UL/IEC, ASHRAE, Uptime/TIA standards, protocols, and practices.

- Based in major US Data Center markets: Pacific Time Zone (esp. SF Bay Area, Seattle).
- Real-world Uptime / Reliability standards and compliant implementations.
- Grid and islanded/microgrid architecture.
