About the role

As a Data Center Security Specialist (individual contributor), you will drive operational security excellence in several separate facilities located within a short driving distance. Your constant vigilance will identify physical security gaps and shortcomings, which you will address immediately. You will interface with and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by analyzing hard data, suggest enhancements to electronic surveillance and access controls, and lead efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions. This role requires writing and implementing security processes and procedures, creating reports and presentations, and communicating with management on the status of physical security operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational security excellence in multiple data center facilities.
• Identify and address physical security gaps and shortcomings.
• Direct vendors in security construction, repairs, daily operations, patrols, and planning.
• Extract and analyze security metrics to observe improvements.
• Suggest and implement enhancements to electronic surveillance and access controls.
• Educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions.
• Write and implement security processes and procedures.
• Create reports, presentations, and communicate with management on security operations status.

Requirements

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• 6+ months' experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the administration and operation of access control systems (Lenel, Milestone) and CCTV systems with digital recording.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree (Bachelor's) or background in one or more of: Military (Career/Military Police/Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority (Police Academy Graduate), TSA Security Screening, Correctional Facility Officer.
• 2+ years of security experience or equivalent (demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education).
• 1+ year of leadership experience.

Pay

USA, VA, Sterling - $28.89 - $50.52 USD hourly.
