Data Center Project Manager

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Management Consultant (PMC) Project Manager to support Owner's Representative Project Management for complex energy and mission-critical infrastructure programs. This role is home officeanchored, providing project management, integration, and controls leadership across a portfolio of projects, with targeted on-site engagement during key execution phases. The position supports multi infrastructure solutions including, but not limited to data centers, industrial/manufacturing, substations, BESS, water treatment/water supply, and onsite generation programs, requiring cross-sector expertise in large-scale infrastructure delivery. The PMC Project Manager serves as a trusted advisor to the client, ensuring alignment, integration, and execution assurance across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnoverwithout performing EPC or construction directly. Key Responsibilities Home Office Project Leadership & IntegrationLead project-level coordination, governance, and decision support from the home officeServe as a strategic advisor to the client and shareholders on execution approach, risk, and performanceDrive alignment across multi-project portfolios, stakeholders, and delivery partnersProject & Program OversightOversee scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety across concurrent projectsCoordinate complex interfaces across power generation, electrical infrastructure, and mission-critical facilitiesSupport integrated delivery across EPCs, OEMs, and contractorsProgram Controls & ReportingPartner with home office and client teams to maintain: Integrated Master SchedulesCost forecasts, commitments, and change management logsRisk registers and mitigation strategiesDeliver consistent, executive-level reporting and insightsCommercial & Risk ManagementSupport change management, claims avoidance, and commercial alignmentIdentify and mitigate program risks across both data center and generation scopesCommissioning & CloseoutCoordinate integrated commissioning and turnover strategiesSupport transition to operations, documentation closeout, and lessons learned Staffing Model / Work Environment Primarily based in the Black & Veatch home office, supporting multi-project programsAugmented by targeted on-site visits during critical execution phasesWorks in close coordination with site management, controls, and discipline SMEsRole evolves across project lifecycle (development ? execution ? commissioning) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline OR 15+ years of equivalent field experience in complex infrastructure project executionMinimum 12 years of progressive experience in large-scale infrastructure or energy projectsDemonstrated experience in Owner's Representative, PMC, or client-side program roles Minimum Qualifications Mega-project execution in large energy infrastructureMission-critical or data center deliveryProgram-level coordination across multiple contractors, EPCs, and stakeholdersHome office project management and controls leadership (schedule, cost, risk)Construction oversight, commissioning, and turnover support Key Capabilities Ability to lead from the home office while maintaining strong field integrationStrong program controls acumen and executive communication skillsProven ability to manage complexity across mixed asset classes Competencies Builds networksDevelops talentCustomer focusDirects workDrives vision and purposeFinancial acumenManages complexityManages conflictTech savvyValues differencesBusiness insight Salary Plan PMT: Project Management Job Grade 017
