DATA CENTER PROJECT ENGINEER

Duties And Responsibilities

• Determine telecommunication and data technology needs by examining existing infrastructure
• Design and lead implementation of data communication technology in new buildings
• Ensure efficient, safe and code compliant cabling infrastructure in data centers
• Manage RFI’s and assist in submittals
• Oversee the installation of cabling projects from design to completion to meet industry standards
• Work with all project stakeholders to ensure cohesive function and design per contract requirements
• Improve personal, technical, and supervisory skills through personal development plans and offered training
• Represent and promote the company’s mission, vision, and values

Essential Education And Qualifications

• MUST have RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) Certification
• Understanding of fiber optics test parameters (ORL, IRL, CD, PMD, etc.) and fiber optics theory
• Previous data technology experience and management experience preferred
• Able to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
• Able to use computers/electronic devices
• Able to read blueprints and follow job specifications and orders
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
• Proficient with Bluebeam

Physical Demands

• Must be physically fit to endure the daily activity involved with the job
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time as required for driving and computer work
• May require focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time
• May require some travel
