Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on ACMV systems, hydraulic systems, and thermodynamics refrigeration cycles.
- Perform engineering calculations such as cooling load, hydraulic, and equipment sizing (e.g., chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with electrical and network infrastructure.
- Plan and manage mechanical engineering aspects of new data center construction and system retrofits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations at local, national, and international levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Propose innovative solutions and drive continuous improvements in mechanical systems design and operation.
- Provide construction support, including attending site meetings, reviewing shop and as-built drawings, preparing RFIs, conducting quality checks on installed systems, and verifying system performance.
- Review and critique commissioning scripts, ensuring they test all operational modes thoroughly, and participate in key commissioning tests onsite.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in data center construction projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledgeable in software tools such as MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and project management platforms.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing systems, including fundamentals of cooling, ventilation, hydraulic/plumbing systems, and BMS/EPMS.
- Data center training certification is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is preferred.
