About The Role
As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments. This is a nightshift position and requires on-site presence at the Data Center facility based in Colorado City, TX.
What You’ll Do
- Aid in daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
- Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
- React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
- Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
- Conduct building walkthroughs, take meter readings from UPS, PDUs and utilities.
- Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
- Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures.
- Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
- Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
- Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
What You’ll Need
- Technical Skills: Electrical / Mechanical: UPS, PDUs, LV/MV switchgear, panel boards, transfer switches (ATS/STS), grounding, three-phase power basics, diesel generator interfaces, CRAC/CRAH equipment, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, N+1 concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- General Requirements & Skills: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role.
- Ability to present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
