Data Center LV Systems Design Coordination and Commissioning Lead

About the role

Coordination lead for all low voltage systems. Owns the technical interfaces between subcontractors, trades, and client stakeholders. Mostly coordination and oversight role - not detailed design production.

Systems in scope: Telecom backbone and structured cabling (main distribution frame / intermediate distribution frame, fiber, pathways), Small wire systems, Physical security (access control, closed-circuit television, intrusion detection), Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), Network infrastructure and inter-system interfaces, etc.

Responsibilities

• Serve as discipline subject matter expert for all low voltage scope
• Coordinate multiple subcontractors across overlapping technical scopes; identify scope gaps and duplications before issuance
• Manage interfaces between BMS, EPMS, telecom, and network layers, including protocol-level integration (BACnet, Modbus, Simple Network Management Protocol)
• Review design documentation for constructability; flag field-execution risk during design phase
• Allocate and sequence resources across telecom backbone, small wire, security, audio/visual, and power monitoring workstreams
• Interface directly with client Information Technology and Security Vice Presidents; translate design intent, field status, and technical risk for executive audiences
• Produce structured, recurring written reporting to client on scope status, risks, and decisions required
• Provide construction oversight through installation
• Support commissioning, startup, and inter-system integration testing

Qualifications

• BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) Certification will be a big plus
