About the role

We are seeking Level 1 Technicians and Lead Technicians to join our team for a six‑month project at the site in Haskell, TX. This is a contract position based out of Abilene, TX. The role involves the installation of data center cabling and equipment, including fiber optics, racks, and cable trays, and preparing equipment for installation in new build data centers. Free training is available for entry‑level Texas residents, and free meals and housing are provided on site.

Responsibilities

  • Install data center cabling and equipment such as fiber optics, racks, and cable trays.
  • Prepare equipment for installation in new build data centers.
  • Supervise teams of technicians if applying for the Lead Level Technician role.
  • Complete a two‑week Fiber Optics installation boot camp if applicable.
  • Apply skills from previous training in fiber optics and data center construction.

Requirements

  • Former military experience or veterans who can complete a Fiber Optics installation boot camp.
  • Experience in installing fiber optics equipment and supervising teams.
  • Completion of a training class in fiber optics and data center building phase.
  • Skills in communication systems installation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Cat5, punchdown, telephony, Cat5e, fusion, OSP, build, construction, splice, rack and stack, electrical, and telecommunications.
  • Ability to work on large teams and follow instructions.
  • Self‑starter with initiative and ability to stay engaged throughout the day.

Pay

  • Base pay: $22.00 per hour.
  • Overtime: at least 10+ hours per week expected at $33.00 per hour.
  • Daily per diem: $50.
