About the role
As a Data Center Engineer, you'll work closely with server and network engineers from Epic's internal IT team, helping to ensure all IT equipment in our data centers runs efficiently and effectively. You'll be responsible for taking into account various data center variables when performing installs, including physical space, power consumption, network connectivity, cooling, monitoring, and existing infrastructure topology.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient operation of IT equipment in data centers
- Consider various data center variables during installations
- Leverage technologies like Terraform and Ansible
- Collaborate with a small, collaborative team to keep the company up and running
- Support the delivery of quality care for patients through Epic software
Requirements
- Extremely attention to detail and high level of organization
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Strong documentation, project management, and communication skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Previous information technology experience
- Prior data center, server, or network engineer experience – especially with Cisco IOS or NX-OS platforms – is preferred

Location
The position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance.
