About the role
The Data Center Commissioning Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the commissioning process of new data center facilities to ensure they meet industry standards and client requirements. This role requires strong project management skills, knowledge of data center operations, and experience in managing complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, facility management, and IT departments
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications
- Oversee testing and validation processes to ensure system functionality
- Communicate progress and issues to stakeholders
- Prepare and present project status reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations or project management
- Experience with commissioning and validation processes
- Knowledge of industry standards such as TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, and ISO 20000
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or CISP are preferred
- Experience with data center infrastructure design and construction
- Understanding of data center cooling systems, power distribution, and network architecture
Skills
- Project management software proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Project)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
