Data Center Cable Technician (Day & Night Shift Available)

About the role

We are hiring Data Center Installation Technicians to support a large‑scale data center construction project in Red Oak, TX. The position is ideal for candidates with cable installation, telecommunications, construction, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or other hands‑on experience. Candidates should work well with tools, learn quickly, and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Install and secure cables throughout the facility.
• Perform basic cable terminations and punch‑downs.
• Assist with rack and ladder rack installation.
• Follow project drawings and installation standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Support testing and troubleshooting activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb.
• Able to climb ladders and work in a construction environment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cable pulling experience.
• Low‑voltage or telecommunications experience.
• Experience with Cat5, Cat6, or fiber cabling.
• Experience terminating copper or fiber.
• Data center experience.
• Scissor‑lift certification.
• Bilingual Spanish/English.

Project Details

• Duration: 3‑4+ months.
• Day and night shifts available (Day: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM; Night: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM).
• Significant overtime available.

Employment Requirements

• 10‑panel drug screen required.
• Random drug testing throughout the project.

Compensation

Salary: $20 – $28 per hour, with a 10 % night‑shift differential.
