Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist the Project Manager in managing the project life cycle process on assigned projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Aid in project pricing, budgeting, and estimating.
- Manage subcontractors/vendors and project schedules.
- Coordinate safety meetings and incident investigations.
- Ensure proper planning and management of HVAC and plumbing installations.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare vendor/subcontractor purchase orders.
- Contribute to monthly reports and cost reviews.
- Estimate change orders and assist with project documentation and close-out.
- Support the project team in meeting project goals and developing career skills.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by:
- Coordinating safety meetings and investigations.
- Maintaining employee involvement in safety initiatives.
Work with the Project Manager to:
- Plan and manage the installation of HVAC and plumbing to meet codes and project requirements.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Actively participate in:
- Operation, corporate, and departmental meetings.
- Monthly reports and cost reviews.
- Commissioning requirements for project close-out.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.
- 0-2 years' experience in the industry.
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of the industry and Company's competitors.
- Excellent multitasking skills, capable of performing duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- PREFERRED:
- Experience in processing submittals.
- Experience in heavy commercial construction.
- Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination.
Physical Demands
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving between worksites.
Pay Range
USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
