We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Data Architect to support the design, development, and governance of data architecture for a remote team focused on business intelligence and analytics. This role offers the opportunity to shape data models, improve data quality, and help enable strong reporting and decision-making capabilities across the organization. Responsibilities Design and maintain data architecture, schemas, metadata, repositories, and data models that support business intelligence and analytics needsTranslate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical technical designs with clear traceabilitySupport database administration activities such as configuration, resource allocation, and review of loaded data for accuracyTroubleshoot database applications and support data-related issues across systems and processing architecturesDevelop and refine data analytic models, ad hoc queries, and reports for audit and business leadershipPerform SQL analysis to assess existing metrics and help define new metrics and reporting needsLead or support testing activities, including unit testing, ETL validation, SQL/reporting tool testing, and script developmentCollaborate within an Agile team to improve reporting, dashboards, data governance, data cleanup, and data sharing processesMonitor and help improve data integrity, quality, and efficiency through automation and infrastructure enhancements Skills 9+ years of relevant experience in data architecture, business intelligence, database design, or a related fieldBachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant disciplineStrong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data warehouses, and data analysis techniquesExperience working with data models, metadata, repositories, and database schema managementAbility to analyze business needs and convert them into technical design solutionsExperience supporting reporting, dashboards, metrics, and performance measurement effortsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and qualityAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to Agile deliveryClear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with technical and business stakeholders Preferred Skills Technology certification related to the roleExperience with ETL processes, code-level testing, and script developmentFamiliarity with data governance, data sharing agreements, and data cleanup initiativesBackground supporting infrastructure design and automation improvementsExperience developing balanced scorecards or dashboard solutions Horizontal is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences are valued.
