Data Architect

About the role

LaunchTech is a veteran-owned company that supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. We are seeking a Data Architect to design, deploy, and manage an organization's data architecture to ensure it supports strategic mission goals and vision.

Responsibilities

• Create a supporting vision and blueprint for data management systems, from initial design to long-term maintenance of the data environment.
• Develop an overall short term (next 2 years) and long term (5-7 year) organizational data strategy aligned with business or mission processes and strategic mission goals.
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to guide data structure and flow.
• Cook up and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical functionality and ensure data accessibility.
• Implement and audit security measures to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with governance policies.
• Plan and execute large-scale data solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from platform selection to testing and implementation.

Requirements

• Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience.
• Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience.
• Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role.
• Must be proficient in SQL development, database administration, and both RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) or equivalent.
• Must have a mastery of visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau or equivalent to present complex data insights.
• Must have strong coding skills for automation and data manipulation like Python, Java, C/C++, Perl or equivalent.
• Must have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Must have an understanding of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and predictive modeling.
• Must be familiar with MBSE and incorporating AI into legacy systems to streamline data output.
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Have a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification.
• Have 1, or more, Cloud-Specific Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
• Have a Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP) Data Engineer certification.
• Be an Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional.
