About the role

Burlington is seeking a self-driven and highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team with a passion for data, software, and engineering. At Burlington, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in a goal-oriented environment. As an IT architect, you will define and govern the enterprise-wide data architecture, ensuring that data models, pipelines, metadata, and integrations are scalable, interoperable. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, develop detailed data architectural designs, and ensure the integration of systems and technologies. Additionally, you will mentor junior architects, assist in their professional growth, and participate in the continuous improvement of data architectural practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data architecture
  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across business domains
  • Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, lineage rules, and metadata frameworks
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
  • Develop detailed architectural designs
  • Create high-level and low-level data model diagrams and documentation
  • Define system components, data flow, APIs, and service interactions
  • Review and validate architecture and design artifacts with developers, testers, and security teams
  • Mentor junior architects and assist in their professional growth
  • Provide guidance on architectural methods, tools, and standards
  • Support data architecture related skill development through coaching, training, and shadowing
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of architectural practices

Requirements

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in architecture
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of architectural design techniques and tools, proficiency in system integration and technology alignment, excellent analytical and debugging skills

Qualifications

  • TOGAF Certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Leadership in creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy aligned with business requirements
  • Development of enterprise-wide data architecture and processes to embed strategic change management within the organization
  • Experience in architecting with various platforms and tools, such as Snowflake, Azure, Oracle Pl/SQL, Databricks, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Scripting experience with SQL, Python, Shell, PySpark - preferred
