About the Role
The Data and Research Specialist identifies, registers, and maintains records of all patients in a program specific to the area in which it is located. Preference given to candidates currently pursuing Pre-Med.
Responsibilities
- Interact with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and clinic personnel.
- Manage several high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of computer spreadsheets and databases.
- Explain certain aspects of clinical studies recommended to patients.
- Maintain records in accordance with FDA guidelines and standards.
- Make recommendations to attending physicians regarding patient suitability for enrollment in certain clinical studies.
- Participate in department committees.
- Acquire lifelong follow-up data for patients from all physician offices.
- Manage data for pharmaceutical studies, including liaison with representatives of those companies.
- Maintain and update all human subjects committee protocols.
- Perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related healthcare field OR Associate’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare or academic setting.
