Data and Analytics Analyst - On-Site

About the role

The Data and Analytics Analyst role at Regions focuses on transforming data into meaningful formats for operational and decision-making purposes. This role collaborates with senior analysts and managers to gather and interpret data, providing insights to support business needs and projects.

Responsibilities

• Modifies reports to be valuable, readable, and presentable to stakeholders
• Aids in preparing visual reports and presentations for management
• Analyzes data to determine operational impacts, trends, and opportunities
• Performs data analysis to facilitate data automation
• Maintains and updates databases to classify and store information
• Completes daily deliverables and ad-hoc data reports to meet business needs
• Conducts quality data audits and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
• Maintains awareness of data and analytics trends and collaborates with the Data Governance team
• Provides guidance to junior analysts and ensures proper training and tool provision
• Collaborates with the Data Governance team to implement and support data governance and data quality requirements

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field with 2 years of experience in data analytics
• Or, Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field with 4 years of experience in data analytics

Preferences

• Experience with analytical software such as SQL, SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, and Microsoft Office applications
• Working knowledge of business intelligence software (Tableau, Power BI)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills

• Data Analysis & Interpretation Ability
• Understanding of KPIs, metrics, and business performance indicators
• Advanced SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation
• Experience with complex joins, CTEs, and performance optimization
• Data Visualization & Reporting Designing interactive dashboards and reports
• Applying best practices in data storytelling, visualization design, and user-centered reporting
• ETL & Data Preparation Experience with data pipelines, transformations, and data cleansing
• Understanding of source systems, data lineage, and refresh schedules
• Experience with Python, Spark, and Snowflake systems
• Deployment of code to production using Git + Harness Pipelines
• Data Modeling Knowledge of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
• Structuring fact and dimension tables for efficient reporting
