Data Analytics Engineering
About Sage Care
Sage Care is a fast-growing, early-stage healthcare startup founded by exceptional leaders from Apple, Uber, and Carbon Health, and backed by top-tier venture capital (General Catalyst, Chelsea Clinton). With a strong customer pipeline, Sage Care is transforming healthcare by simplifying care navigation. Our platform makes it easier for patients to find the right doctor and helps providers focus on those who need them most through harnessing the latest AI innovations. Building on our successful collaborations with health systems across the U.S., we have expanded internationally to the MENA region, partnering with health systems there to deploy our AI-powered care navigation platform.
About the Role
Every day, our services match real patient queries, symptoms, and pathologies to providers, sites of care, and urgency. These mappings are highly complex and non-linear, ranging from queries like “back pain” to “doctor for head trauma.” We log and query historical requests but want to build tools to analyze this data in aggregate and gain deeper insights into daily trends. We are looking for someone to help build the analytics infrastructure and tooling for the matching pipeline, providing learnings from real patient data and key insights to iterate and improve our offerings.
Responsibilities
- Build and design analytics tooling and pipelines.
- Create dashboards for partners, the business team, and internal use to surface metrics and insights from our data.
- Develop pipelines that connect metrics from our services to our dashboards.
- Build offline analysis tooling to help understand aggregate and large-scale impacts of our services.
- Help design and implement new metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Establish quality metrics to refine and enhance our algorithms.
Requirements
- 2+ years of data analytics and engineering experience.
- Experience building dashboards and UIs that monitor live data using tools like Grafana.
- Data engineering experience piping metric data from live services.
- Strong experience in an object-oriented language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Strong backend engineering skills and systems thinking.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Open Telemetry and related products (e.g., Honeycomb, Jaeger UI).
- Experience in healthcare technology.
Examples of Relevant Experience
- Built dashboards that monitor real-world metrics and usage.
- Implemented and designed novel metrics to capture useful insights.
- Worked on tracing software and piping data through multiple software systems.
