Data & Analytics Engineer - NC
About the role
We are seeking a Lead Data & Analytics Engineer to join a technology team supporting a multi-year SAP transformation. This role is central to modernizing enterprise data platforms by migrating from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Responsibilities
- Design and implement SAP Business Data Cloud solutions, developing data products, integration pipelines, and semantic models.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources into the business data ecosystem, optimizing data ingestion, transformation, and governance.
- Create and manage ETL/ELT processes, process chains, data loads, and data quality controls within the SAP environment.
- Support data extraction from various systems such as SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party platforms.
- Develop and manage SAP BW/4HANA data models, including ADSOs, Composite Providers, and Open ODS Views.
- Design and develop SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) dashboards, stories, applications, and planning models.
- Create executive-level KPIs, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions while supporting planning, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, data governance, and security standards.
- Participate in solution design reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation activities within an Agile delivery process.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent.
- Experience with at least two full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Experience with SAP Data & Analytics technologies, including SAP BDC, BW, and SAC.
- Experience with Core SAP S/4 HANA systems, end-to-end architecture, life cycle management, and upgrades.
- Experience with cloud solutions for S/4 HANA SAP RISE.
- Experience with system and platform integrations, microservices architectures, and API-first design.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data transformation techniques.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and enterprise analytics.
- Experience with cloud and container platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- SAP certifications in Business Data Cloud, BW/4HANA, Analytics Cloud, or HANA.
- Experience supporting SAP transformations from ECC to S/4HANA or BW to Datasphere/BDC.
- Knowledge of SAP Data Intelligence and SAP Integration Suite.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data product design.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
