Data Analytics Engineer

About the role

The Data Analytics Engineer will support a Federal Government customer by designing, developing, and deploying scalable reporting and analytics solutions for secure, cloud-based mission systems. This role involves gathering requirements, architecting data pipelines, and building high-performance dashboards to enable critical decision-making in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements and partner with stakeholders to understand complex data needs and emerging business objectives.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance reporting systems and analytics tools.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, dashboards, and data visualization tools in response to client requirements.
• Identify, research, and integrate disparate data sources while maintaining data integrity and security.
• Communicate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams; respond to requirements in tight timeframes.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain Public Trust Level 6C clearance.
• Ability to work on-site in Crystal City, Virginia, 1 day per week.
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics or related field.
• Experience with report and dashboard development.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with the following technologies:
  • AWS services (S3, RDS, EC2, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch).
  • JSON and JSON format mediation techniques.
  • Business intelligence and visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • DevSecOps tools and techniques (Jenkins, Git).
  • Data management and aggregation patterns (data warehouse, data mart, data lake, delta lake, lakehouse, data mesh).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
