Job Summary
Lead and supervise a reporting and analytics team supporting federally funded research programs.
Partner with executive leadership (COO and others) to drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and dashboard/report development using Tableau, SQL, and PeopleSoft.
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies for cost/schedule tracking and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (FAR, NFS, CFR, OMB) in grant and contract monitoring.
- Manage Tableau servers and analytics systems, ensuring robust and secure data infrastructure.
- Design and implement data models, ETL processes, and master data practices (Kimball, SSIS).
- Deliver strategic reports and actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Drive process improvements using data-driven analyses and recommendations.
- Supervise, mentor, and train analytics staff and internal stakeholders on best practices and tools.
- Develop and maintain policies, reporting standards, and guidance documentation for analytics/reporting.
- Cook up and communicate with internal departments and external partners for cohesive operations.
- Provide group and individual training on analytics tools and EVM concepts.
- Work in a hybrid (onsite/remote) environment; primarily office-based with occasional travel.
Requirements
- Advanced experience with SQL, Tableau, and PeopleSoft.
- Strong background in EVM (tools like Deltek Cobra, Empower, Acumen FUSE, MS Project).
- Deep understanding of contracts, grants, and federal compliance.
- Experience with financial systems and sponsored research (higher education preferred).
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive/high-level responsibilities.
