About The Role

Western Digital is seeking a highly analytical, strategic, and operationally focused Supply Chain Planning Principal Data Analyst. This key role involves leading the development, execution, and automation of complex business scenarios that support executive decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to various teams including Supply Chain Planning, Finance, Operations, Commercial, and Product Management, providing critical insights into long-range planning, annual operating plans, capital investments, manufacturing capacity, customer demand fluctuations, and product transitions. This role demands proficiency in advanced scenario modeling and business analysis, as well as the ability to define and execute a multi-year roadmap for automating data integration, dashboarding, and modeling capabilities. The role involves close collaboration with IT, Data Engineering, and Digital Transformation teams to enhance analytical tools and processes. Supporting business reviews and strategic presentations to top executives such as the CEO, COO, and CFO is a core responsibility, requiring exceptional communication skills, analytical rigor, and strong business acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in analytics, supply chain planning, operations strategy, finance, consulting, or business intelligence roles.
• At least 3+ years of leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Proven experience supporting executive-level decision-making through advanced analytics.
• Experience developing scenario models for strategic planning, capital investment, operations, or supply chain optimization.
• Preferred experience within semiconductor, storage, technology hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience supporting Long Range Planning (LRP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), or Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
• Technical proficiency in advanced analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Snowflake, and Databricks is highly desirable.
• Master's degree or MBA in Operations Research, Engineering, Analytics, or Business is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of complex business scenarios supporting Western Digital's long-range planning processes.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical models and actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate demand, supply, manufacturing, capital, inventory, sourcing, and product roadmap scenarios to inform strategic decisions.
• Analyze risks, opportunities, constraints, and sensitivities across multiple business assumptions to quantify impacts.
• Support executive-level business reviews, board presentations, and strategic planning initiatives with data-driven insights.
• Develop integrated models linking demand forecasts, manufacturing output, inventory levels, capital investments, and financial outcomes.
• Partner with Supply Chain Planning teams to evaluate network and capacity optimization opportunities.
• Analyze manufacturing loading strategies, factory utilization, and supply-demand balances to identify operational bottlenecks.
• Support capital planning through investment scenario evaluations and business case development.
• Develop and own a strategic roadmap to automate scenario modeling, reporting, and decision-support processes.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Digital Transformation teams to improve analytical capabilities and implement scalable dashboards.
• Define data architecture, governance standards, and reporting requirements to enhance analytical workflows.
• Implement process automation to reduce manual data collection and analysis activities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Present complex analytical findings visually and narratively to influence cross-functional leadership and facilitate alignment on strategic initiatives.
• Mentor analysts and planning teams on advanced analytical techniques and best practices, fostering a data-driven decision-making culture.
