Data Analyst Intern - Summer 2027
About the role
This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2027. Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, for the duration of the program. Interns will be evaluated for a full-time position within our rotational programs, with start dates six months to one year following the completion of the internship.
Responsibilities
- Utilize hands-on learning and experience to leverage new technology to help drive business strategies while developing an analytical skill set
- Build leadership skills in the professional setting through meaningful interaction with business leaders
- Cultivate relationships with fellow interns and associates through extensive networking activities
- Harness cloud-based tools and platforms to explore structured and unstructured data
- Use data mining techniques to identify fraud rings
- Test the effectiveness of our marketing channels
- Use modeling and analytics to understand how business decisions impact our bottom line
- Build the data foundation for Capital One’s digital agenda
- Seamlessly integrate data from multiple sources and platforms to generate customer insight
- Explore new data sources to enhance models and build solutions that empower analytics
- Research web activities to drive enhancements to customer engagement sites
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by August 2028 or earlier (for example: If you are graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in May 2027 and are also currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s degree program with an expected graduation date of May 2028, then your most recent full-time degree program is your Master’s degree)
- Must be continuing in the same course of study of your most recent full-time degree program following completion of the internship

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
- McLean, VA: $109,000 - $109,000 for Data Analyst Intern
- Richmond, VA: $99,000 - $99,000 for Data Analyst Intern
