Data Analyst (III or Sr)

About the role

This Data Analyst role interacts with and impacts all parts of the business by identifying, designing, and developing data analytics. The position plays a key role in establishing efficient, automated, and repeatable processes to extract and analyze large datasets, developing tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization. Success in this role requires the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with business partners while challenging conventional thinking and traditional ways of operating.

The position is also responsible for building models, generating insights, business intelligence reporting, and advanced analytical model development, including the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence tools tailored to business needs. It contributes to the development of models and insights to identify opportunities and interfaces with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver appropriate solutions. As a technical leader, this role delivers technical solutions that drive business value and performs duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose data problems and proactively anticipate and prevent issues; devise, facilitate agreement, and make recommendations for sophisticated issues that cross organizational boundaries.
• Research the underlying data needs of business partners and recommend options with cost-benefit analyses.
• Apply multiple approaches to data quality assurance and testing; document outcomes and review with business partners.
• Lead initiatives and programs to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Research organizational and professional data trends; network internally and externally on areas of concern.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify operating needs, issues, and solutions with data; lead actions to enhance business function standards and performance.
• Seek opportunities to improve, streamline, and reinvent work processes and procedures.
• Build models, generate insights, and develop business intelligence reporting and advanced analytical models, including machine learning and artificial intelligence tools.
• Contribute to the development of models and insights to identify business opportunities.
• Interface with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop appropriate solutions.
• Act as the technical leader on the team, delivering technical solutions that drive business value.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Data Analyst III: Minimum of three (3) years' related experience (five (5) years preferred).
• Data Analyst Sr: Minimum of five (5) years' related experience (seven (7) years preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, Power BI, data analysis, data mining, and data transformation.
• Experience with Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to visualize data to convey information and results clearly (preferred).
• Knowledge of the industry and multiple business functions (preferred).
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as a priority.
